ORMOC CITY – Gunshot riddled the lifeless body of “Dodong” when he was found beside his motorcycle along the roadside in Barangay Mudburon, Alangalang, Leyte on July 2, 2025.
“Dodong” is said to be 30 years old and a resident of Sitio Paligos, Barangay San Antonio, Poblacion, Alangalang, Leyte.
Accordingly, the Alangalang Municipal Police Station, led by Police Major (PMaj) Godofreed C. Zantua, Acting Chief of Police, immediately responded and launched an investigation after receiving a report of the body’s sighting. Further, in order to ensure thorough forensic processing, responding officers secured the area upon arrival and worked with the Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO).
Moreover, the team conducted photographic documentation, evidence collection, and initial examination of the body. Dodong’s body will accordingly undergo an autopsy to determine the cause of death and support the investigation.
The investigators also conducted a CCTV footage review, interviews with nearby residents, and coordination with barangay officials to gather leads and reconstruct the timeline of events.
To further strengthen coordination and assess progress, a case conference was held with personnel from Alangalang MPS and the Provincial Investigation and Detection Management Unit (PIDMU) of the Leyte Police Provincial Office.
According to Zantua, they are exhausting every investigative effort to uncover the truth behind the said incident, and they call on anyone with information to reach out and help them deliver justice and protect the peace in Alangalang town.
