ORMOC CITY – Due to the desire of LGU-Ormoc, led by Mayor Lucy Torres-Gomez, to provide numerous services addressing the health of Ormocanons and neighboring localities, a meeting was held regarding this at the city mayor’s office on Monday, April 17, 2023.

During the meeting, the plan of the local government to “retrofit” the medical facility in Barangay San Pablo, which facility will be named the “Ormoc City Polyclinic and Diagnostic Center,” was presented to the body.

Accordingly, the city government wants to start it as soon as possible so that the necessary equipment can be installed.

The said facility will have a directly observed treatment facility, a short-course for the elimination of tuberculosis (TB-DOTS) facility, a social hygiene treatment facility, an animal bite treatment center, a clinical laboratory, a radiological facility, a pharmacy, a dental room, a maternal facility, a medical surgical facility, and a human milk bank section. The meeting was attended by Committee Chairman on Health, Dr. Edmund B. Kierulf, City Health Officer Dra. Sarah Hermoso, City Administrator Vincent Emnas, Department of Health (DOH) representative, Elsie Jaca, and representatives of the City Architect Office, City Planning and Development Office, and General Services Department.
