ORMOC CITY – The Philippine-American Association of Georgia (PAMAG) in collaboration with the Ormoc City Medical Society (OCMS) successfully conducted its medical mission from February 5-7, 2024 in different barangays in this city.
The PAMAG members as well as 16 volunteers from the City Health Department (CHD) teamed up in helping the self-funded medical mission that seeks to help execute out-patient consultations, distribute free medicines, provide scientific lecture meetings, and share information and expertise with OCMS members.
Accordingly, the covered courts of Brgy. Curva, Brgy. San Pablo, and Brgy. Ipil were the chosen barangays to host the said initiative.
Additionally, more than 400 registered recipients attended the first day of the said medical program in Brgy. Curva, and 374 of them received free medicines.
PAMAG and the OCMS also accommodated about 300 outpatients on the second day of the medical mission in Brgy. San Pablo.
According to Dr. Romeo Moriles, PAMAG President, he wishes all Ormocanon to join this great cause as this would help his fellow Ormocanons to a more sustainable health and well-being. “Our aim is to help those who are in need and we are encouraging everyone… everything here is free; the consultation and medicines, all you have to do is to come and join us,” he added.
The medical mission, accordingly, has also reached other localities in the Philippines specifically in Dumaguete, Cagayan de Oro and Dagupan that has aid the health needs of the Filipino people. By Joanna Grace Duenas (EV Mail Feb. 5-11, 2024 issue)
