THROUGH THE UTMOST EFFORT OF LEYTE 4TH DISTRICT REPRESENTATIVE RICHARD I. GOMEZ, a total of 912 beneficiaries under his area of responsibility benefited from the Department of Labor and Employment’s (DOLE) “Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa ating Disadvantaged/Displaced” (TUPAD) Workers Program who received their compensation during a pay-out event that took place in their respective municipalities on February 22 and 23, 2024.

The said program was realized due to the congressman’s aspiration to help out the needy constituents of his district.

TUPAD is a community-based program that provides immediate relief to those facing economic hardships, including displaced, underemployed, and seasonal workers.

Accordingly, the beneficiaries received PHP 3,750.00 each as compensation for their 10 days of community service.

The said salary distribution was also attended by former Palompon Mayor Georgina Arevalo, former Board Member Indoy Arevalo, San Isidro Punong Barangay Ian Jay Arevalo, Merida Vice Mayor Rudy Wenceslao, and Ormoc City Prosecutor Atty. Benett Pongos and former Matag-ob Vice Mayor Bushi Torrevillas.

The event was successfully facilitated by DOLE Regional Office 8, headed by Mariannie Bornasal. (By Gwen Maurillo / EV Mail Feb. 19-25, 2024 issue)
