TACLOBAN CITY – The Police Regional Office 8 (PRO-8) lauded the recent seizure of PHP 748,000 estimated worth of shabu and the arrest of a high value individual (HVI) in Barangay 95-A, Caibaan here.
“The arrest of Albert Ortillo alias “Montoy” proves the unparalleled commitment of our police operatives to crack down illegal activities in Eastern Visayas,” said PRO-8 in a statement.
Albert Ortillo, 35, has been charged before the City Prosecutor on Wednesday, June 21, for violations of the Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
“Charges have been immediately filed against the arrested personality, which signifies that we are serious about bringing the law offenders to justice,” PRO-8 added.
During the operation, one of the operatives who acted as the poseur-buyer was able to purchase a small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance or shabu.
Four more sachets and a knot-tied plastic, each containing suspected shabu weighing a total of 110 grams were confiscated from the suspect. The suspect remains under the custody of Police Station 2 in Barangay Abucay here. By Marie Tonette Marticio (EV Mail June 19-25, 2023 issue)
