ORMOC CITY – On November 30, 2022, Senator Imee Marcos led the distribution of the cash assistance to beneficiaries of the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) Program in the Fourth District of Leyte held at the Ormoc City Superdome together with city government officials led by Mayor Lucy Torres-Gomez, Department of Social and Welfare Development (DSWD) Assistant Secretary Ma. Evelyn Macapobre, and DSWD Regional Director Grace Subong.
The funds for said AICS distribution came from the Congressional fund of Fourth District of Leyte Representative Richard I. Gomez amounting to PHP 3 million.
Meanwhile, a total of 1,000 recipients, who included indigent Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), senior citizens, students, solo parents, and needy adults from received PHP 3,000 each.
The activity was successfully facilitated by the Ormoc City Social Welfare Department (CSWD) led by Maribel Gucela, DSWD Region 8, the Ormoc City Mayor’s Office, and the Congressional Office of Representative Gomez. Accompanying Sen. Imee Marcos to Ormoc was former Mandaue City Mayor Luigi Quisumbing, as Visayas head of the office of the woman senator.
