TACLOBAN CITY – The body parts of a 31-year-old woman were allegedly burned, chopped into pieces, and dumped into the sea, Friday (March 1), in Tarangnan, Samar.
Authorities surmised that the victim (Alias “Joy”), a resident of said town, was raped or has been a victim of a failed rape attempt, which caused her brutal murder in Brgy. Cahunghan of said town.
Prior to Joy’s disappearance, the village chief disclosed, that he tried to reconcile an attempted rape incident between the person of interest and another woman.
The said suspect allegedly went into the woman’s house but failed to rape her, which prompted him to look for another victim.
Joy’s burnt body parts were discovered in the woods, while fishermen discovered a sack of her head and other body parts floating at around 3:00 A.M., Saturday (March 2).
The suspect was reportedly identified because of he was anxious during their confrontation at the barangay hall.
