ORMOC CITY – The Dancesport Team of Ormoc City (DTOC) launched the Dance Clinic for Senior Citizen and PWDs Community at the Dancesport Studio, Sports Complex, on Monday (February 26).

The dance clinic serves as therapy, rehabilitation, and exercise for senior citizens and PWDs, respectively.

Accordingly, this is a one-year activity that encompasses two sessions, specifically, every second and fourth Saturday of the month.

Moreover, DTOC plans to create a dance recital for the participants at the end of the year.

DTOC Head Coach Genice Marquez said that dancing is like walking, but with a mixture of rhythm and sophistication. “If you know how to walk, then you know how to dance; the basic movement of dancing is walking,” he added.

The DTOC encourages senior citizens and the PWD community to join the dance clinic, which is not just a healthy physical activity but also a soul cleanser for the target clientele. By Joanna Grace Duenas (EV Mail Feb. 26-March 3, 2024 issue)
